SCHOOLS PHOTO EXPO 2010
In 2009 the Rotary Club of Stirling conducted a very successful Schools Photo Expo called “A Day in the Life Of My School.” Students in 14 schools in the Stirling district participated and over 1,450 photos were entered in the Expo. Of these, 450 were printed and displayed in the Woolworths Shopping Mall in Stirling.
This year, the Schools Photo Expo 2010 was conducted from 17th April – 24th April, (to coincide with other community events). The Rotary Club of Stirling Schools Photo Expo 2010 had a different theme; there were opportunities this year for more students to participate. It also offered teachers and parents the opportunity to be involved. The Expo for this year had 3 sections:
Section A: For Students – free entry – limited to 20 students per school - Reception to Year 12 “My School is a Special Place.” Free Entry for 20 students. Students, who are interested in participating in this section were selected by teachers and students in all year levels were able to enter.
The Rotary Club of Stirling invited up to 20 students from 15 local schools to participate in the School Photo Expo 2010. A limit of five (5) photos only could be submitted by each student making a total of 100 being entered by each school. Photos were to be submitted on CD disc so that judges could make selections for printing and display. Entry to this section was free.
Section B: For Students - $5.00 Entry – limited to 20 students per school – Reception to Year 12.:
The themes for this individual student category was, My Pets, My Family, My Favourite Things and My Favourite Place.
Students who wished to participate in this section needed to contact the school and register. Only 20 students per school were able to participate. Only 2 photographs could be entered per student. Entry, per student, (i.e. up to 2 photos per student) was $5.00. All photos entered in this category had to be submitted as a printed photograph 6 X 8 (15cmX20cm) in size, on glossy photo paper, with no border and in full colour.
Section C: For Parents and Teachers in local schools – limited to 20 participants from each school.
The theme for this parent/teacher category is: “Adelaide Hills – a place to be.” Up to 20 adults (parents and teachers) per school were invited to participate in this “open” category. Each individual participant was able to enter two (2) photos. Entry fee for this section was $8.00. All photos entered in this section could be printed 6 x 8 or 8 x 10 (20cmX25cm) in either colour or monochrome. All photos to be taken by the exhibitor and be original entries. i.e. not entered in any other photo exhibition.
Judges awarded prizes in all sections and selected photos were displayed in the shopping centre and other business places in Stirling from 17th – 24th April.
Details regarding the conditions of entry and entry forms were able to be downloaded by clicking on the items below.

- All individual entries (sections B and C) to be delivered to child’s school for collection or left at Stirling Library.
