To every person who was able to attend our 45th Anniversary of Charter of our club on Monday evening, thank you for being there and demonstrating what a happy and vibrant club we are. I was very happy with the great response we had.
It was great to hear from PP Peter Frazer with some great memories of the early days and thank you, John Norris, for organising and chairing those who spoke.

Among those who also shared memories were:
Ian Cogdell and David Wotton.
I was pleased that Barry Klose, the only remaining Charter member of RC of Onkaparinga and his wife Bronwen were present to share memories of when Stirling sponsored their club in 1978.

Also attending were President Russell Camens and Kevin Wilson of the Onkaparing club. PP Shiralee Judge of RC of Mt Barker represented the club who sponsored us in 1974. Our other closest neighbouring RC, Blakiston. was represented by President John Rowley.
It was great to be able to catch up with many old friends and there was quite a buzz in the room.
The hotel did a sensational job of catering for so much larger group than usual and there was an abundance of food for all. The staff on duty excelled themselves.
I was very happy with our cake which reflected the colours in the current Rotary Theme of “Rotary connects the world”. Sue from Azure De Lis Cakes in Mount Barker took the vibrant colours from the Logo to present a very attractive cake which was white chocolate and fresh raspberry filling.
Our two Charter members who were present, John Stoddard and Peter Frazer ,very ably assisted me in cutting the cake after a rousing Happy Birthday was sung.

And next week on Wednesday a contingent of us will support Rotary Club of Blakiston at the Pulpit Cellars Mt Barker. There will be a separate email notice of that on Sunday. There will be 17 of us going.
I am off to Mt Barker today to assist at the Bunnings BBQ. There is much more coming up so check the coming events list.
Yours in Rotary
