Monday night’s meeting was well attended and everyone was fascinated by our guest speaker Dr Michael Court. Michael was a Group Study Exchange Team member to New Mexico, USA in 1967. Susanne spoke with him at our recent Sculpture Exhibition and subsequently, after a re-acquaintance chat with Dr Dick, he willingly agreed to speak at our meeting.
He came armed with lots of memorabilia from his exchange and was a fascinating speaker with many stories. So many in fact he has agreed to return to once more engage us with his tales of adventure. That exchange and the people he met and his experiences greatly influenced the path he took in life. Stay tuned for his return.
This was followed by a very productive board meeting at which a number of plans were made and approved.
Next Meeting
Next Monday is Committee night so be on the lookout for an agenda and/or briefing paper from your Director.
We will be joined at the beginning of the meeting, though, by Dick Cuttle of the Onkaparinga club, and other members of the informal Fencing Committee, to talk about how they support bushfire victims.
Joining Dick will be Gordon Brice, PP Onkaparinga who is also on the District Donations in Kind Committee and Russell Camens, PP Onkaparinga, also on the Calperum Committee. They may also be joined by a representative of the RAWCS SA Bushfire Recovery Committee.
They will also answer questions about their operation and how Stirling members might get involved or help set up a similar group here.

A Night at the Theatre Anyone?
From Acting President Susanne:
We would like to arrange a group to attend the Stirling Players latest production of "Cosi", written by Louis Nowra. Directed by Megan Dansie who has had a few successful productions with Stirling Players. This was a play I thoroughly enjoyed studying when I majored in drama a very long time ago. A year ago Stirling Players was at a difficult point but at their AGM in Feb 2020, an almost completely new committee was formed and they are making plans for their 50th Anniversary next year.
If we have a minimum of 10 people the cost will be $18.20 per person for the 8:00pm,Saturday, 27Marchperformance..
Please let Susanne know asap and we will make a group booking. Free sherry pre performance is still the tradition as it was 50 years ago!
