President’s Ponderings

Greetings everyone.

I trust you are keeping warm in this cold weather at the moment.  Our beautiful Adelaide Hills comes to life with log fires burning as we gaze at the misty rain outside.

Well I did not expect to be back in this driver’s seat just now, however I am looking forward to the year ahead.  Thank you for putting your trust in me.

Thank you to all who attended the changeover at the Mount Osmond Golf Club.  What a lovely venue and great staff who served a great meal.  It was a very warm, friendly and relaxed night with all 60 present enjoying each other’s company.  Congratulations and thanks to our outgoing President Greg Russell on the fine job he has done along with his board in the past year.  The evening proceeded according to plan.

Thank you to Stirling Florist for the wonderful table arrangements and gift for Marcella Russell.  As always, they excelled.  Thank you to Grant, John Goslett and John Osborne for their efficient organisation.  Appreciation too, to Stephen Blacketer for the toast to RI and to District Governor Tim Klar for the response and also for presenting the Paul Harris Fellow to Pauline Annear and to Neil Wickens.  Congratulations to them both for their well-deserved awards.

I enjoyed having some of my family members present and was pleased they were able to gain some insight into what Rotary is all about. As I have been in transition and heavily occupied in same over the past week as well as keeping up with my work this will be a brief report, mainly to thank people.

Finally, I do want to also thank my incoming Rotary board for supporting me in this next 12-month journey.  May we continue to see our club go from strength to strength.  I am also very happy that we are continuing much of what was put in place in the past twelve months.

Remember always that one important part of Rotary is fellowship, so come along this evening and enjoy fellowship with your fellow Rotarians as well as hearing our guest speaker Lynne Griffiths from Adelaide Hills Council.  Help to make any guests feel welcome.

I look forward to seeing you all there!

President Susanne Marie

The Four Way Test

Of all the things we think, say and do

Is it the TRUTH?
Is it FAIR to all concerned?
Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
