Rebecca Lines, a physiotherapist based in Mt Barker, has a particular interest in helping cancer survivors live their very best lives and has studied widely in the field. On Monday she focused on quality of life factors and how to improve health outcomes after treatments and cure. There is no medication or treatment that matches the positive effect of exercise
An exercise pill, she believed, would be world's most prescribed medicine, and not just for post cancer recovery!
Actually, that's not a bad target for everyone!
Next Monday's Meeting
On Monday we will welcome DG Jeff Neale and Jenny to Stirling. He will also attend a Board meeting immediately prior to the club meeting.
Jeff met Jenny when they were both Divisional Superintendents with St. John Ambulance. Jenny later trained as a registered nurse.
Jeff is the Dealer Principal of Paradise Mazda, which is, unsurprisingly, a strong corporate supporter of Rotary!
Come to hear Jeff's vision for Rotary and for D9510 this year.
Upcoming BBQ at Bunnings
This is a special appeal to those who have not yet supported the club's fundraising efforts at a BBQ, No experience is necessary and comprehensive training is provided!
This year, the opportunity to raise any money at all, thanks to Bunnings, has been in many ways, a lifesaver for the club! Help us to help the community!
To sign up for the Bunnings BBQ on Friday, 3 December, from 8am until 12:30 OR 12:30 to 4:30pmClick HERE
Stirling Rotary Award
On Wednesday evening Heathfield High School held its Year 12 Graduation Ceremony at which the Stirling Rotary Award was presented to Anasta Savva, a School Captain, in front of 1200 or so staff, family and friends. Due to COVID restrictions, guests were limited to 4 tickets per graduate so the presentations had to be made by staff members.
Fortunately, Dan, a very proud grandfather of Oscar, was offered a family ticket, so he was on hand to track down Anasta in the crowd of well-wishers, to extend to her, on behalf to the club, our heartiest congratulations and the very best wishes for a bright future.

In the photo on the left you can just make out Anasta receiving the Stirling Rotary Award (it WAS a big crowd!) and in the other photo she is seen being congratulated by Jayne Fulbrook who said that Anasta was a VERY popular choice amongst students and staff and that she whole-heartedly endorsed her selection.
Jayne also let Dan know that she will be moving on to another school (Aldinga Beach) next term which gave him a chance to express how much club members appreciated everything she has done for us (including the establishment of the Interact Club) over the years and to wish her every success in her new role by the sea!

Heathfield High School Round Table Presentations
Once again we have been asked by the high school to be part of this showcase of work by Year 9 students. Students present their topic to a panel consisting of a parent, a teacher, a friend of the student and a community member. Tuesday November 30 is the day set aside for this - from 8:30-5. You don't have to be there for the whole day. A number of members volunteered at the meeting last Monday. If you were not there and would like to be involved, please contact John Norris soon to let him know.
