Wow we seem to be having a few confusing weather patterns lately! With everything set to go for the 26th annual Stirling Christmas Pageant, the latest weather forecast has forced its postponement until next week, same time, same place!
We had such a big group of participants, including Andrew Cass, who begins his treatment this week. What a trouper, but do take care Andrew. Many hands make light work and we sure have most hands-on deck.
The flexibility, adaptability and "can do" attitude of our members will, no doubt, seamlessly cope with the change of dates...
I hope you are all keeping up with what is suitable clothing to wear. And what a lot of busy people we have. Tis the season… and speaking of that we have 25 days to Christmas. Yippee!
Our lovely Michelle Lesiw was our guest speaker last Monday night and despite her initial nerves, she was a delightful breath of fresh air in describing a number of significant events in her life.
It is always great to have more understanding of what has shaped people’s lives and I would like to thank Michelle for giving us such a personal look in to those of her and her loved ones. My heartfelt thanks Michelle. I am very happy to have you as a fellow Rotarian. Your cheerful smile and personality and your willingness to be enthusiastically involved is wonderful.
And next Monday, the 2nd we will be able to hear from our other brand-new Rotarian who is another very willing and enthusiastic member of our club, Malcolm Horton and it will be his turn to regale us with snippets of his life up till now.
I have a couple of Rotarians to join me for the Charter Ceremony of the new Interact Club at Heathfield High School. Any other member of our club is welcome to attend at HHS on Monday 9th December at 10.30 am to 11.15am. Please let me know (0418 845 119) if you would like to come and help them celebrate as I need to give numbers for morning tea.
Robert Koehne put out a plea for people to participate in a BBQ on Tuesday and for our work we will receive $500. Thank you, Robert, and those who have agreed to help on Tuesday. We have a full team!
For those who were unable to attend last Monday evening I made the announcement that, in the new District 9510 which commences on July 1st 2020, I have been offered and accepted one of two new roles as the Deputy Governor- Areas. This role will mean I will be coordinating and supporting the 12 new Area Governors (used to be known as Assistant Governors, as I was for 3 years). The other new role is Deputy Governor -Resources. We will both be part of the Executive team.
